It is the objective of Birchwood Grove Nursing Home to provide care to all residents, a standard of excellence, which embraces fundamental principles of good care practices.  This may be witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality care in the home.  It is a fundamental ethos that the residents who reside at Birchwood Grove are able to do so in accordance with the homes Statement of Purpose.  

Birchwood Grove is situated in close to the town centre with excellent transport links.

A short drive to both Waitrose and Sainsbury’s stores and for families, there is a Premier Inn nearby as well as many eating establishments and Scrase Valley Nature Reserve.

We all always provide the very best care to our residents so we are proud to have been awarded the current CQC status which summarises -

• People and their relatives told us they were happy living at the home and they felt safe. All people were comfortable in the presence of staff. People had their medicines administered safely.
• People were supported to maintain their health and had access food and drink based on their individual choice and preferences. People had access to a wide range of activities in the community and within the service, that reflected their specific needs and interests.
• People's privacy, dignity and rights were respected and upheld. People were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible …………

If you have a loved one or a family member who needs residential care, you will be looking for a residential home that provides superb nursing care around the clock for residents with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, mental heath conditions and the elderly. That is what Birchwood Grove Nursing Home have been providing for nearly 40 years.

The home employs an activity coordinator and hosts regular social events such as parties, barbeques and garden parties which are open to relatives, friends and the local community. Friends and family are warmly welcomed at any time, and are encouraged to feel at home.

The staff team provide a high standard of person centred care, caring for a small group of residents. This enables flexibility insuring residents are supported and encouraged to make daily decisions about their own care and maintain independence as much as possible.

Birchwood Grove is situated in close to the town centre with excellent transport links.

It is situated off the main road by private driveway.

About our rooms...

At Birchwood Grove we have 27 bedrooms, 2 of which are double and can accommodate couples, 20 of the rooms have ensuite and WC facilities.   The home has undergone refurbishment including new flooring, bathrooms, entertainment systems and all rooms have television points.  We encourage our residents to personalise their room with personal belongings, and small pieces of furniture.

About our facilities...

At Birchwood Grove Nursing Home there are 2 lounges, one on the ground floor and another one on the third floor: there is a large dining room overlooking the sea and gardens. The home has a music system that plays various music throughout the day around the home. We have a large professional kitchen equipped to prepare all fresh meals.

What about food and diets?

At Birchwood Grove we make sure that our residents receive a good, balanced and healthy diet. For this reason we employed a professional cook who is able to meet all the needs of our residents.
